AJOL Daycare School was designed and implemented in Kothrud, Pune. Our client was running a daycare school from home near the site, and due to its success, they wanted to expand the school and move it to a different location.

​

The main shape of the plan was a square block, where, by removing the rectangular parts at the front and back, we get an H shape, which incorporates the requirements for a daycare school in both blocks. One of the built rectangular blocks contains the play area, and the other rectangular block contains the kitchen, toilets and sleeping area. In the middle part, there is a small reception, and the front part is open to the sky. The open court is a waiting area for parents, and behind the reception, an outdoor play area has been designed.

The school is a sustainable development with the façade in exposed fly ash brick, and the roof in steel and fibre sheets, small windows on the front side balance the mass of the two block buildings and generate an attractive facade.
