Jugal & Deepika Resident, Diu Island U.T.
Details :
Plot Area : 1000 SqFt
Built up Area : 1500 SqFt
This house is situated on DIU U.T. Island in the Arabian Sea, adjacent to Gujarat, and is considered one of the tourist destinations in India. The history of Diu Island is interesting and, like Goa, is related to the Portuguese. In Diu, you will find magnificent elements and structures of Portuguese architecture. Many of the town's streets are still colourful and lively, and this colourful liveliness still influences modern homes in many ways.
The plot is narrow, and its width is only fifteen feet. In terms of planning, we have designed a staircase in the middle of the block, so the rooms are divided equally on both sides of the stairwell, a kitchen is placed on the east side, while the dining-living is designed on the west side on the ground floor, and four bedrooms are designed on the first and second floors.
The visual aesthetic is simple, and the west side offers a wonderful view of the local landscape and sunset, so we designed wide windows on all three floors to maximise the view of the west side.
The shade of the elevation is the most important element of the entire fenestration detail; it is inspired by the old city and local Portuguese architecture, and it adds a local identity to the entire streetscape. This colour is creating positive energy and a kind of liveliness throughout the house.
