National Maritime Museum, Falmouth, Cornwall, UK

After our day-long trip to St. Michael's Mount, we had to leave beautiful Cornwall in the morning, so in the morning we headed toward our home town Leicester, but in our return journey, we had wanted to stop at two very attractive and beautiful places. on our way home, our first stop was the Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum is very famous for its vast collection of marine articles and boat collection, and I believe my experience was impressive. based on my experience, I would strongly recommend visiting this Decorative Maritime Museum.

After we finished our visit to the Maritime Museum, we drove to the Eden Garden Project, the site is a marvel of architecture, and the site has spread in acres of land. the geometrical domes are a unique feature to view on the site, so on my first perception from the internet, I wanted to visit this site as well, so we visited.

On our journey home, we stopped and visited both tremendously beautiful places. We are delighted to share our experience below. 

National Maritime Museum, Falmouth

​The National Maritime Museum is positioned in Falmouth city in the Cornwall region, south of England. the maritime museum was the only location we had reserved to visit on our return journey to Leicester, and on the same day, we wanted to visit two more places before the drive to our home.  The foremost reason for visiting this museum was the marine acquisitions, Generally, I don’t like to visit, but this museum is not about history and related stories, but the vast variety of marine-related collections. The museum is on the seaport and attached to the sea, and the structure is built on the port. The car park is just a little away from the museum, and it takes a 5-minute walk to reach the museum. The museum is surrounded by commercial shops, food stalls, restaurants and cafes. The structures around the museum itself are very appealing, rustic and built from the wooden substance; the entire area looks architecturally attractive and delightful.

Workshop

Some part of the museum has a workshop to develop wooden boats, this workshop showcases materials, tools and methods to build a small wooden boat. The wooden log boats are there in display; these kinds of boats were used by primitive people. There are many models of ships which the British Empire had used earlier in the 19th century for the transportation of the army, goods and prisoners in the world. In the same segment, there are many historical voyage documents, portraits and stories displayed.

In the basement, the museum has a Tidal Zone. In the Tidal Zone, you can see a glass panel in the wall, and on the glass panel, through which you can see the water level of the sea, on the same wall, they have marked high tide and low tide. 

Titanic Story

The Titanic story is the most attractive area in the museum; this segment of the museum exhibits Titanic-related stories, documents, and portraits. the museum has been exhibiting the tragedy of the Titanic in voice and video. We all watched the movie Titanic, in which we saw lots of characters, lots of things related to the Titanic ship and lots of events took place while the Titanic was sinking. In this museum, you will see the real characters, the crew, the captain’s real face and people who died on the Titanic ship. the model lifeboat, the liquors which were served in the Titanic, life jackets and many other articles of the Titanic are exhibited in the museum.   The museum has a cafeteria on the top storey, a smoking zone, a view gallery, a deck and a small shop where you can buy ship models, souvenirs and t-shirts.
